Riga Latvian Society’s Latvian Language Advancement Group offers Mag. theol., Mag. psīch. Māŗis Ķirsons’ reading “Who Owns My Past, Owns My Future” and discussion that will take place on September 2, 2013 at 18.00 in the Riga Latvian Society House.

Māŗis Ķirsons (born in 1940) is known as a religious, social and pedagogical worker both in Latvian exile in the USA (Chicago, Philadelphia), Canada (Ottawa) and in Latvia. M. Ķirsons has a Bachelor Degree in philosophy and history, Master’s Degree in theology and since 90s also Master’s Degree in family and marriage therapy. One of his activities’ spheres is fighting against alcoholism and drug addiction. M. Ķirson’s sermons have been heard in Doma Church, but lectures about practical psychology – during studies of Master’s Degree and in teachers’ community (about family and ethics). To his mind, during the time of the long Soviet Occupation Latvian language has been littered and depleted, because it had been important to prove that soviet people did not have soul...
