Mini festival “POPULAR together with a friend!” invites children and youth

The Riga Latvian Society and creative association for youth “TREPES” were organising workshops, activities and mini festival for children and youth from June to August 2014, which main aim was to promote children and youth to spend actively and thoughtfully their free time. The programmes of the workshops and events are developed so that children and youth should find and develop their talents, self-confidence and secure their values.

Children and youth, who participated in the events, were preparing for the important event – mini festival at the same time, by making their business cards, finding out their talents, understanding about avant-garde, attitude towards sub-culture and creation in different genres. Every participant had opportunity to become acquainted with popular personalities, to make common activities and perform in the mini festival’s programme.

The youth actively participated in the team work and team games, worked together in the social and voluntary work. Approximately 100 participants participated in the activities, including young people with disabilities.

The concluding event of the activities’ cycle - mini festival “POPULAR together with a friend!” will take place by the trade centre ORIGO in August 30, at 13.00, popularising safe, active and creative free time spending activities.

During the mini festival young people will show their talents. They will dance, sing, play musical instruments, paint and make interesting art objects. They will be supported by the popular people in Latvia, friends of other nationalities, brothers, sisters, parents and close friends. During the activities every interesent will be able to participate in the creative workshops and learn new skills together with the volunteers.

The mini festival is organised in the framework of the project “Let’s Open the World for Opportunities and Skills” (contract no. 2012.EEZ/PP/1/MAC/054/022).
