Paris Latvian Saturday School „Garā pupa”

The Paris Latvian Saturday School renewed its work on March 3, 2012 with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in France and Latvian Association of France. The activities in the Paris Latvian Saturday School take place every second Saturday, except children holidays and State holidays.



The aim of the school is to promote acquiring of Latvian language for the communication purposes and development of Latvian identity.

Children are divided in three groups: 3 - 5 years, 6 - 9 years and 10 - 12 years old.

During the lessons children find out more about Latvia and its folklore, symbols and traditions, improve Latvian language, make different things, play and increase the number of friends. The school offers also folk dance lessons, where children can develop sense of rhythm, correct their stance and movement coordination, to learn Latvian traditional dance steps, rhythm and music.
