Latvian Culture Society in Graz

The Latvian Culture Society in Graz was founded in 2004 to gather information about and gather together Latvians living in Graz and its neighbourhood and to strengthen Latvian environment. The work of the Society is oriented towards cultivation of culture values; it is voluntary, politically neutral, non-profit organisation.
The Society management institutions are General Meeting, Board, auditors and arbitrage. The named institutions do their work without any reward.
The work of the Latvian Culture Society in Graz leads the Board. In the Board are 5 members Chairman, Vice-Chairman, secretary, secretary assistant and cashier.
The Board is elected to 2 years.
In the society are approx. 45 members.
The Board Chairman of the Latvian Culture Society in Graz is Artis Kalniņš.
Activities
Aims of the Latvian Culture Society in Graz are:
The Latvian Culture Society in Graz organises and celebrates Latvias national and traditional holidays, support members initiatives in the Latvianity propaganda, promote Latvias and Austrias cooperation in culture sphere, give moral support and help for the nationals in trouble, support Latvian State events for the Latvians living in Graz and its neighbourhood. The Society cooperates with other organisations and societies with similar aims in Austria, Latvia and other countries, as well as with the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in Austria. The Society has its own Home page; it makes its video library, archive, audio library and library.
The Society has its Latvian School Auseklītis (Morning Star) in Graz.
